Kerin Bentley, Graduate Student

Kerin received her B.S. in 2009 from Vanderbilt, working with Dave McCauley. She is now working in the lab on a PIRE-funded project, studying the population genomics of invasive plants in the U.S. and Asia.

Kaelyn Berryman, Undergraduate

Kaelyn is a first-year student at UGA and is helping with a variety of projects on invasive species.

Guo-Qi Chen, Visiting Graduate Student

Guo-Qi is a Ph.D. student from Dr. Sheng Qiang's lab at Nanjing Agricultural University in China. He received a fellowship from the Chinese national government to study in our lab for one year. He is continuing his dissertation studies on understanding invasiveness of the goldenrod, Solidago canadensis, in China.

Sandra Hoffberg, Graduate Student

Sandra received her B.S. in 2009 from Emory. She is now working in the lab on a PIRE-funded project, studying the conservation genetics of kudzu.

Blake Johnson, Undergraduate

Blake is an undergraduate Genetics major and has been working on a variety of invasive species projects. He will be going to China this summer as part of our UGA-China PIRE project.

Eleanor Kuntz, PhD, Postdoctoral Researcher

Eleanor completed her Ph.D. in 2011 and is now employed by Traditional Medicinals. She is now working in the lab on a project funded by Traditional Medicinals to study the population and quantitative genetics of senna, a plant native to Asia used for its medicinal properties. For her dissertation, she explored the population genetics of invasive red rice.

Jared Lee, Graduate Student

Jared came to us from Jerry Johnson's lab at Brigham Young University, where he finished his M.S. on phylogeography of Costa Rican poeciliid fish in 2009. He is now working in the lab on a PIRE-funded project, studying the population genetics of invasive Gambusia in Asia.

Joan West, PhD, Postdoctoral Researcher

Joan received her Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Maryland's Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, Systematics Program working with David Hawthorne on the genetic basis of pea aphid host plant specialization. She is working on the genetics of adaptation in Arabidopsis lyrata.
